H. R. 3121 Health Care Reform Act

Filed under: Culture, Politics | Tags: ,

This is an act put forth by TN Rep. David Roe M. D. it seeks to repeal the law commonly referred to as Obamacare, and institute changes to American Health care which will allow all Americans to be able to actually get health insurance, without having to depend on a one size fits all policy. This act seeks to increase the ability of American citizens to access health care by giving a tax deduction of up to $20,000 per family. It also will adjust the Health Savings Accounts by increasing the amount that a person can contribute to same, and expanding the things that this plan can be used to pay for.

For vulnerable persons this bill will increase the Federal Support for State High Risk pools so that more people with pre-existing conditions or other at risk conditions will be able to get affordable healthcare through these pools. There is also a provision for ending the State based insurance market for health insurance, thereby increasing competition while allowing individuals to go across state lines to procure insurance policies for their health care. It will also allow for small business owners to pool together to purchase insurance plans for their employees, thereby reducing overall costs to those businesses.

Next it will address Medical Liability problems by limiting Attorney fees, limiting non-economic awards while leaving economic liability with no cap as presently is the case. In other words making the system more equitable to all who are involved in these types of situations. Finally it will address the pro-life aspects of the current situation by ending the requirement that all policies must cover abortion, and abortifacients. It will also stop the spending of Federal funds for these items except in the case of rape, incest, or the life of the mother being threatened.

In other words this bill attempts to level the playing field for all Americans, insuring that all have access to affordable health care without destroying the private sector, or being the heavy hand of the Federal government to bear on the people. It is a common sense solutions. If you would like to see the bill itself you can get a copy of it by going to http://thomas.loc.gov/home/thomas.php and in the search box enter H.R. 3121 it will bring up the bill, and you can then read it online or use the Thomas site to go to the Library of Congress and download a copy in PDF or Text format. The bill is 182 pages long, much less bulk than the 2000 plus pages of the Obamacare act. It is also somewhat easier to read. There are also 114 co-sponsors of this bill.

Id do hope you will take a look at this bill, it is a common sense approach to a difficult problem, if you agree with me then check to see if your representative is one of the co-sponsors, if not, you might want to contact them and ask them to join with those who have co-sponsored this bill.

Al-Qaeda in Yemen

The latest wonderful reward offered for the killing of Americans is 3 Kilograms of Gold for killing the US Ambassador to Yemen. You can find the story here. Of course they are just looking for publicity, after all unless we do something to provoke them they won’t do anything. It was just a demonstration in Libya they really didn’t mean to kill anyone, did they? I mean it was just over some stupid YouTube video wasn’t it?

We keep hearing how Al-Qaeda is dead, because our President killed Osama bin Laden, that is what he said on the campaign trail while running for re-election. Of course the whole thing is over now, the Taliban are no real problem, we can leave Afghanistan and they will be able to take care of themselves. Our government is ready to take care of us too, now that they don’t have to worry about wars overseas they can tackle the big problems here at home and get us back on solid footing, they just need another stimulus package. A few trillion more dollars and everything will be just fine.

I do hope y’all will wake up soon to the truth of what is really happening in our nation. Between the TSA, the Patriot Act and the new Drone program in this country, well we are assured that our government is going to keep us safe. Right after they ban any and all guns. That will make sure that crime will not be possible because criminals will not be armed anymore.

Getting back to Al-Qaeda in Yemen, we will of course be safer if we just pull out of Yemen and let them fight with themselves. As a matter of fact, maybe we should just shut down all those bases we have in the world, and bring our men and women home, they could protect our borders instead of trying to build democracies in the rest of the world. Then we would really be safe, wouldn’t we? After all we could just kill them all with our Drones and Hellfire missiles and that would surely keep us safe, wouldn’t it? While we are at it why not get rid of the leaders of Iran, North Korea, Yemen and any other place that threatens our peaceful existence. We can just go spend our food stamp dollars at the super market, and if we are lucky enough to live where we can get a prescription for Marijuana, well we can really be happy then, can’t we?

Time for tongue to come out of cheek, because the truth is, we cannot be safe, we really can’t stop every crazy who wants to kill and maim, we can’t destroy all the people in the world who want to destroy us or Israel. I see that Israel has a great antimissile system, but it can’t stop them all so they try to make sure they get the ones that would cause the most death and destruction and hope that the others will really hit outside of towns and villages. If you are one of those who wants the government to take care of you, remember Benghazi, the government was supposed to protect our ambassador, instead he died along with 3 others who were with him. If you really think that the government can take care of you, look at the Post Office, that is a very efficient money hole, and how about the TSA, do you really want the government grabbing your private parts, just to make sure you have signed up for Obamacare, and have purchased Federal Health Insurance, or paid the fine for not buying it.

One year ago, President Obama gave the order to send SpOps into a compound in Pakistan to kill or capture Osama Bin Laden. He was killed in the raid. At the time I was more than willing to say, great call Mr. President, but now, a year later, Mr. Obama is trying to say that he did it and his opponent would not have pulled the trigger.

Mr. Romney has stated that even Jimmy Carter would have done the same thing, that given the information at hand, any one in the oval office, except maybe Joe Biden would have sent in the troops. I agree with Mitt Romney, it is a shame that Mr. Obama is using this decision that he made as POTUS, to try to make political hay against his opponent. It was a good decision and the dedicated men and women who got the information, and the troops that executed the plan made it happen. They all deserve the credit for this operation.

I have to wonder, why Mr. Obama doesn’t just run on his record. He has saddled the country with 5 trillion in debt in just 3 years, a record accomplishment. His Health Care Reform (Obamacare) is set to take over 1/3 of the economy in 2013, and of course the new taxes that are coming up in Janurary of 2013 will help to drive us back into recession, if not a mild depression. But of course the Democratic Senate won’t even discuss all the bills passed in the house to try to stimulate the economy, because it might embarrass Mr. Reid and Mr. Obama. All that has come of that is hate speech aimed at Paul Ryan, instead of discussion of the passed in the House of Representatives but not even allowed to be talked about in the Senate. It is interesting, the Senate could and should be working on a budget, something they have not been willing to do in 3 years, but they won’t even look at the budget passed in the house. One last year and one this year. They could amend the budget more to their liking and pass it, it would go to conference committee and get adjusted by both sides and we might actually have a real budget once again. But NO Harry Reid won’t even bring it to committee much less the floor of the Senate.

So, what do you think about all this? Is it time to replace the leadership in the Senate? Perhaps on both sides of the aisle, since Mitch McConnell has not been particularly effective either. I’d really like to know what you think dear reader.
