Reid Lies Again

I have to admit, I read the story about Harry Reid and his comments on the floor of the Senate and was taken aback by the sheer audacity and ignorance of this man. If you want to know what he said just click on this link. He was talking about the Koch brothers and how they are trying to buy their own Congress. He forgets all the money that has been poured into Democratic campaigns over the last several years, by the likes of George Soros, Sheldon Adelson and others. I took a look at the Center for Responsive Politics (aka, OpenSecrets.org) and found listings of all time big donors from 1989 to 2014. It lists those who have given big money for lobby efforts, and also big money for Candidates.

You have to go to the 17th entry in order to find anyone giving to Republicans in big numbers. At the #1 position is ActBlue, 97 million dollars 99% of which went to Democrats. Then of course comes the Unions starting with AFSCME, NEA, UAW, SEIU, AFT, Teamsters, United Food & Commercial Workers. All heavy contributors to Democratic Party coffers. Reid talked about the Koch brothers, they are all the way down at 59th place well down the list. One of the more interesting contributors to Democratic causes was the City of New York, who contributed 79% of 3 million dollars to Democrats, and almost 2 million to outside spending groups. New York City? How can a city be sending Tax Payer Funds to politicians???? If any of you reading this blog are from New York City, you might want to check out these politicians who are spending your money on getting themselves and their buddies elected! I’m sure glad I left there 35 years ago.

I do note that Unions sent their money to elect Democratic candidates, they did not send much if any money to Republicans. Must be a reason for that huge disparity. Interesting statistic, the Associated Builders & Contractors sent 98% of their money to the Republican Party. Carpenters & Joiners Union sent 74% of their money to the Democratic Party and the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union sent 85% of their money to the Democratic party as well. Sort of a disconnect there, the Contractors support the Republicans and the union supports the Democrats who have ruined the employment picture over the last 8 years. Oh well, I wonder how many of those who are members of these unions realize where their dues go?

Hey Republicans how about pointing out these disparities? Stop letting the Democratic apparatus, lie and deceive people about what it means to be a conservative. While we are at it understand that we the people want people who will stand up for what they believe, stop saying one thing and doing the opposite. I am old enough to remember when politicians actually stood for something and their word was their bond. Today, we know when a politician is lying, all you have to do is open your mouth to speak.

They can’t understand why they lost?

Paul Ryan, Congressman from Wisconsin can’t understand why they lost to Obama? How about because they were too stupid to run a good campaign. Romney had Obama on the ropes, and let him get back in the game. He did not press any advantage he had against Obama. He did not push Benghazi or any of the other scandals that he could have used to prove to people that Obama was not the right man to set us back on course. Had he done so they might have won the election, and the country might be on the right track now.

I have to admit that I am absolutely disgusted with the Republican Party. If and when they get some backbone and begin to actually do what they run on then perhaps things will get better, but what I see is a spineless Boehner, a spineless McConnell and his henchman Cornyn both of them are RINO’s. John McCain is another one, I don’t want to see these guys continue in power but of course they have the money to keep going.

When will the electorate wake up and see what is going on? We have now created a Royal Class in our Senators and Representatives, as well as our Emperor President. These people poop all over us and we keep sending them back to do so again. What ever happened to the Statesmen that used to inhabit our Senate, House and Executive branches? This is a short note because I have a longer one to follow-up with.
